Find out what the car is worth as it stands
When a repair has become more work than expected, knowing the car’s sale value gives you another option. You may already have bought parts, paid for diagnosis or started dismantling it. Those past costs do not necessarily reflect what the remaining car is worth, so tell us what is included now.
We assess the make, model, year, kilometres and overall condition. The engine, transmission, body and usable components all contribute. Where the car has reached the end of its useful life, recoverable materials can still have value.
A damaged car is not automatically valued only by its weight. Conversely, money recently spent on repairs does not automatically add the same amount to its sale price. We look at the complete car being offered and what can realistically be recovered or used.
If you have a mechanic’s assessment or photographs of dismantled areas, include them. It is better to show a known problem than leave us to assume that a component is intact. You can then consider the offer alongside the remaining work needed to keep the car.
